Assistant Estimator

 

 

Assistant Estimator required for a Construction contractor that specialises in design & build, new build, refurbishment and fit-out works for private and public sectors. Friendly working environment, beautiful large head office.

 

Salary :                   £40,000

Location:                 Hatfield

 

(please note, applicants must live within a commutable distance to Hatfield . . . therefore not suitable for anyone who lives in south London, south of England etc.

 

 

 

Assistant Estimator Requirements:

·         Degree level ideally in Quantity Surveying

·         A good understanding and application of measurement principles

·         Experience in building sub-contractor packages for issuing to the market.

·         A proven track record chasing enquiries and obtaining multiple sub-contract process per trade

·         Demonstrated ability using Quantity take-off software and BoQ production

·         Ability to carryout sub-contractor comparisons with an understanding of “plugging” rates where required

·         A generally sound knowledge of building principles and products

 

Software

·         Solid used of cloud based document storage

·         Experience of using Estimating software packages, Ideally Esti-mate, but conquest, blue-beam, causeway or similar is acceptable.

·         Solid ability in MS office suite, particularly competent in excel.

 

The person

·         Needs 2-3 years experience within the estimating department. Generally looking for candidates who have experience at bigger firms and are “frustrated” (Kier, Balfour Beatty, Willmott Dixon, Morgan Sindall, Wates etc) who want an opportunity to improve and progress to “estimator” in a smaller company.
